Sansevieria trifasciata or the Golden Hahnii is a popular houseplant with leaves having dark green centers that are surrounded by light yellow to gold edges. Its common name is mother-in-law's tongue or jinn's tongue depending on where you live, due to its long and narrow shape. The beauty of this succulent plant is also seen on the stemless rosette of this plant which contains clear horizontal bands. Many people grow it because of its ease to care for which makes it perfect for growing indoors. Snake plants can survive low light levels, drought and have few insect problems. NASA research has even shown that snake plants are able to help keep the air inside home clean from toxins such as formaldehyde and benzene.

Sunlight         
-At least 3-6 hours of preferably morning sunlight a day is ideal for plant to grow well and natural direct bright light for the rest of the day.

-Water it when the dirt in the topsoil (1-2 inches) feels dry to the touch. Do not overwater or let the plant sit in water. Water it thoroughly during the summer months and reduce watering during winter and rainy season.
 
Soil     
-The soil should be well drained and fertile, rich in organic content for growing plant.
